琴马又名琴桥，它是一块桥型的小木片，坚定地站在琴面板的中间，而受压迫于四条琴弦之下。它是提琴上一个非常重要的部件，故而也有人称它为提琴的心脏。它的作用不仅仅在于把四条弦的震动传送到面板，使整个提琴一起随即震动。它的高度又决定了琴弦到指板的距离，从而影响演奏者的手感与演奏性能。
