班固（公元32年—92年），字孟坚，汉族，东汉扶风安陵人（今陕西咸阳东北）。史学家班彪之子，史学家、文学家，与司马迁并称“班马”。在班彪续补《史记》之作《后传》的基础上开始编写汉书，至汉章帝建初中基本完成。主要作品为《汉书》，撰有《白虎通德论》，征讨匈奴时为中护军,后死狱中，善辞赋，有《两都赋》等。
班固是御用文人，他的创作可分为前、后两期。
