珐琅，又称“佛郎”“法蓝“”，其实又称景泰蓝，是一外来语的音译词。珐琅一词源于中国隋唐时古西域地名拂菻。当时东罗马帝国和西亚地中海沿岸诸地制造的搪瓷嵌釉工艺品称拂菻嵌或佛郎嵌、佛朗机，简化为拂菻。出现景泰蓝后转音为发蓝，后又为珐琅。1918～1956年，珐琅与搪瓷同义合用。1956年中国制订搪瓷制品标准，珐琅改定为珐琅，作为艺术搪瓷的同义词。
较为严重者，所有珐琅都可能受到损害。
