环境基础标准，我国制定的六类环境标准之一，是指在环境标准化工作范围内，对有指导意义的符号、代号、指南、程序、规范等所做的统一规定，它是制定其他环境标准的基础。如《环境污染类别代码》等。环境标准样品标准,是指为保证环境监测数据的准确、可靠,对用于量值传递或质量控制的材料、实物样品所制定的标准样品，如(水质COD 标准样品)等。
由于以生长环境不受约束的健康儿童为样本，因而此项研究为标准的制定提供了坚实的基础。
