王台亦名“母蜂房”。又分为自然王台与人工王台。自然王台即工蜂为培育蜂王所筑成的巢房。房形长大，房壁较厚，房口朝下；外表粗糙如花生壳。一般筑在巢牌两侧和下沿。人工为培育蜂王，加快蜂群繁殖速度，用蜂蜡或塑料仿制的王台，称为人工王台。
