牧草地是指以生长草本植物为主，用于畜牧业的土地。草本植被复盖度一般在15%以上、干旱地区在5%以上，树木郁闭度在10%以下，用于牧业的均划为牧草地，包括以牧为主的疏林、灌木草地。
