是指发动机以一千瓦的功率工作一小时的燃油消耗量，也称为汽车制动油耗率，常BSFC(Brake Specific Fuel Consumption)代指；或者指每小时单位有效功消耗的燃油量，通常以每千瓦小时的耗油量表示。 有效燃油消耗率指单位有效功的耗油量，简称耗油率；以克/马力小时为单位。是衡量内燃机燃料经济性的主要指标。农用内燃机的燃油消耗率，一般为：柴油机170－220（克/马力小时）；汽油机240－400（克/马力小时）。
