煎中药，是指把抓回的中药放入砂锅里的一种煮食方式，可加入凉的饮用水，浸泡20~30分钟，再加水没过药物，将药砂锅放在炉火上用中火煎煮。 一般情况分两次煎煮，第一次煎煮后，把药液倒出150～200毫升，叫头煎药：然后，再加温水适量（若药渣放凉再煎煮时应放凉水），进行第二次煎煮，叫二煎药。有时也可以再加水，煎煮第三煎，或是第四煎。这要按照医生的要求去做。
