炭砖是以焦炭、无烟煤和石墨为主要原料，以沥青、焦油和蒽油等有机材料为结合剂制成的耐高温中性耐火材料制品。炭砖的耐火度高，导热性和导电性高，具有很好的抗渣性。而且热稳定性好，热胀系数低，高温强度高，耐高温，耐磨性好，耐各种酸、碱、盐和有机溶剂的侵蚀，但在氧化气氛中容易氧化。
