Project managers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory say it will take several days for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to return to normal science operations.

The probe will travel for 11 months before entering Mars' orbit in August 2010. It will gather data on Mars' space environment and the relationship between solar wind and the planet's magnetic field.
