Coasting Test 滑行试验,是让汽车加速到某预定车速后,摘挡脱开发动机,只靠汽车的动能继续行驶直至停车的试验过程。通常在汽车试验场的高速直线道上进行。在试验中,可测得汽车的滑行距离,并可用五轮仪记录滑行过程中车速与时间的关系曲线。通过滑行试验,可以检查汽车传动系和制动系有无阻滞现象,还可根据车速与时间的关系曲线求得汽车的滚动阻力和空气阻力。
