渗铝是一种或多种金属原子渗入金属工件表层内的化学热处理工艺。将金属工件放在含有渗入金属元素的渗剂中，加热到一定温度，保持适当时间后，渗剂热分解所产生的渗入金属元素的活性原子便被吸附到工件表面，并扩散进入工件表层，从而改变工件表层的化学成分、组织和性能。与渗非金属相比，金属元素的原子半径大，不易渗入，渗层浅，一般须在较高温度下进行扩散。金属元素渗入以后形成的化合物或钝化膜，具有较高的抗高温氧化能力和抗腐蚀能力，能分别适应不同的环境介质。
