渗铝是一种或多种金属原子渗入金属工件表层内的化学热处理工艺。将金属工件放在含有渗入金属元素的渗剂中,加热到一定温度,保持适当时间后,渗剂热分解所产生的渗入金属元素的活性原子便被吸附到工件表面,并扩散进入工件表层,从而改变工件表层的化学成分、组织和性能。与渗非金属相比,金属元素的原子半径大,不易渗入,渗层浅,一般须在较高温度下进行扩散。金属元素渗入以后形成的化合物或钝化膜,具有较高的抗高温氧化能力和抗腐蚀能力,能分别适应不同的环境介质。
