周围温度对其液化速度影响很大。一定压强下，同一种物质的“液化温度” 跟它的“沸点”基本相同。所以，越冷液化得越快。 众所周知，同种物质由气态变为液态与由液态变为气态互为逆过程，仍以水为例。由图1，可以看出，1标准大气压下，水蒸气的液化温度为100℃，100℃以下（包括100℃）的水蒸气的饱和水汽压都超不过1标准大气压，其上限是1标准大气压。而在1标准大气压时，水的饱和汽压等于外界压强时就发生沸腾，所以状态FE段就表示水处在沸腾状态。显然，一标准大气压时，水蒸气的液化温度跟水的沸点都是100℃。
