涎石病是指发生在涎腺腺体及其导管中的钙化性团块而引起的一系列病变。下颌下腺涎石最常见，腮腺次之。涎石常使唾液排出受阻，并继发感染，造成腺体急性或反复发作的炎症。可见于任何年龄，以20～40岁的中青年人多见。男性多于女性，病程短者数天，长者数年甚至数十年。
