消费者在特定条件下（如喜好，商品价格和收入既定等），把有限的货币收入分配到各商品的购买中，以达到总效用最大。在这种情形下，消费者货币分配比例达到最佳，即分配比例的任何变动都会使总效用减少，因此，消费者不再改变其各种商品的消费数量，这被称为消费者均衡。消费者均衡是消费者行为理论的核心。
