海树，又名石帆或黑珊瑚、碧珊瑚，有金黄、墨黑、赭红三种颜色。多半是渔民捕鱼时从海中打捞而起，由于硬度比珊瑚差，价格也低得多。但是海树性寒，耐火度高，色泽恒久，为制造烟斗的最佳材料。
