泳钟 nectocalyx， swimming bell 系形成管水母群体的个员中，最与水母型构造相近的个员。具辐管、环管、缘膜和很发达的下伞肌等，与典型的水螅水母型几乎相同，但无垂管、借伞的收缩，排出伞腔内的水，利用其反作用使群体运动。钟泳亚目中有2个泳钟上下合在一起的种类（例：双水母 Diphyes）在悬囊亚目之浮囊的下方，多数泳钟纵列集中而构成泳钟部（nec tosome）其他类型的个员仅见于其下方。
