染色过程中,在烘干时随着水分蒸发,被染物内部的水分子不断沿毛细管流向蒸发面.当毛细管直径大于染料分子的直径,毛细管又被水充满时,染料分子可随水分子一起,移向蒸发面,即发生所谓的泳移现象. 泳移是指织物在浸轧染液以后的烘干过程中染料随水分的移动而向受热面迁移的现象。
