法典（拉丁语：codex），指就某一现行的部门法进行编纂而制定的比较系统的立法文件。现行法系统化的表现形式之一。为了便于查阅、适用法律规范和消除法规存在的某些缺陷，需要对现行法规进行整理，使之系统化。法规系统化的方法有两种，即法典编纂和法规汇编。
