泉室是指集取泉水的构筑物。对上升泉可用底部进水的泉室，下降泉可用侧向进水的泉室。泉水水质好，通常无需净化就可直接饮用，有时还可利用地形条件，引水入户。适用于具有丰富泉水资源的山区和丘陵区小城市和村镇供水。泉室大小视泉水量和用水量而定。泉室的材料以就地取材为原则，一般采用破石砌筑或钢筋混凝土浇筑。
