油钢我国牌号又名CrWMn，是9CrWMn模具钢的改进型，提高了C、Cr、W的含量，所以有更高的淬透性，油淬可淬透Φ40~Φ50mm的工件，且淬火变形小，因而习惯称微变形钢。由于W形成钨碳化物，钢在淬火和低温回火后具有比铬钢（Cr12）和9SiCr钢更多的过剩碳化物和更高的硬度、耐磨性，此外钨还细化晶粒，提高回火稳定性，从而使钢获得更好的韧度。淬火后残留奥氏体量比其他合金钢多，此外还容易形成碳化物网，对韧性不利、可通过锻后正火予以改善。
