汕头地区是中国广东省曾经存在的一个旧地级行政区名字，由汕头专区改名而来，存在于1968年3月16日到1983年7月13日，已经撤销，管辖范围为今地级汕头市、潮州市、揭阳市、汕尾市, 梅州市于1965年独立为梅县专区。
