水线面（water plane），船舶工程术语，是指水平面和船体的截交面。例如：拿一个葡萄酒杯，（郁金香形状）慢慢向水里浸入，当杯底接触水面，水线面是一约4厘米直径圆；当继续深入，杯底进入水后，杯柱相继进入水中，水线面就是一小圆面；再向下杯体进入水面，水线面就是一个越来越大的圆面。 当舰艇在水中航行，是免不了海浪摇晃影响的。这会影响海军舰艇观察，搜寻，射击等。但是有个诀窍，就是小水线面舰船的受海浪摇晃幅度最小。所以我国的新型导弹艇就是双体小水线面船型。
