专业用语，多用于石油开采和地质分析领域。具体含义为：当岩石中只有一种流体通过，而这种流体又不会造成岩石孔隙结构的变化，这时测出的岩石的渗透率称为绝对渗透率。当岩石中有两种或两种以上流体同时存在时，岩石对其中某一种流体的渗透率就叫岩石对这种流体的有效渗透率或相渗透率。水相渗透率就是在两种或多种流体共同渗流时，测得的水的渗透率。
主要表现为三高：高孔隙度、高水相渗透率及高含水饱和度。
