氧化期，是冶炼过程的一个反应阶段。电弧炉冶炼铸钢工艺除不氧化法冶炼外，熔化期结束后就应转入氧化期。 通常氧化期是指炉料熔清取样分析后到扒完氧化渣这一工艺阶段。氧化期的作业是充分利用钢液全熔时温度低的有利条件，迅速地造好流动性良好的泡沫氧化渣；利用加矿石或吹氧脱碳为手段，做到高温氧化，均匀激烈沸腾，自动流渣，达到去磷、去气体、去夹杂纯洁钢液的目的，同时要控制好氧化末期的钢液温度和终点碳，为还原期创造有利条件。
