死核（Deathcore）混合两种风格：金属核和死亡金属。近年来有向Brutal Deathmetal靠拢的趋势，不过其主要的结构还是更接近金属核。尽管仍是金属核下属的一个分支，死核在速度，不和谐音，调式的频繁转换，以及RIFF上都深深的烙有死亡金属的痕迹。不过他们的歌词和其余金属核一样很多都不是死金的风格，但是大量使用了金属核不常用的死金式唱法诸如水喉等等。
