印度婆罗门教六派哲学之一。传说公元初的足目仙人(约2世纪)是它的创始人。足目又以乔答摩(Gautama)而著称。他在总结前人和与他同时代逻辑学说的基础上，写作了第一部印度逻辑著作《正理经》。所谓“正理”，在《正理经》中开宗明义解释说：“借助于量来考察对象是为正理”。量即逻辑推理方法，也叫做“正理”。《正理经》的产生也就是正理论的确立，正理论把《正理经》作为本学派的经典。
