又称模数理论。柯布什耶从人体尺度出发，选定下垂手臂、脐、头顶、上伸手臂四个部位为控制点，与地面距离分别为86、113、183、226cm。这些数值之间存在着两种关系：一是黄金比率关系；另一个是上伸手臂高恰为脐高的两倍，即226和113cm。利用这两个数值为基准，插入其他相应数值，形成两套级数，前者称“红尺”，后者称“蓝尺”。将红、蓝尺重合，作为横纵向坐标，其相交形成的许多大小不同的正方形和长方形称为模度。但有人认为柯布什耶的模度不能为工业化所利用，因为其数值系列不能用有理数来表达
