椴树属(Tilia)植物统称椴树，属于椴树科。椴树是夏绿阔叶植物。椴树能长至30米高，直径可达1米。椴树属最明显的特徵是在花序柄基部与膜质、舌状的大苞片合生。椴树又叫著 Basswood，Linden Tree。 （伪菩提树）它是重要的蜜源植物。各种蜜蜂都喜欢它的花蜜。春末开了满树的小白花，让空气里飘著醉人的类似茉莉的香味。
