梢子有盘头之称谓,是硬山腿子出挑至连檐的部分。根据盘头层数可为五盘头和六盘头,五盘头比六盘头少一层炉口,六盘头逐层为:荷叶墩、半混、炉口、枭、头层盘头、二层盘头和戗檐,明清式称梢子。
梢子棍携带方便，对于经常出差在外的人可用它挑担包裹，又可作钩用。
