栗宪庭，1949年生吉林省，1978年毕业于中央美术学院中国画系。1979—1983年任《美术》杂志编辑，正值中国刚刚改革开发，力图从文化战略的角度把握当代艺术的新变化。推出“伤痕美术”、“乡土美术”和具有现代主义倾向的“上海十二人画展”、“星星美展”等。
栗宪庭先生在大力推动当代艺术进程的同时，也致力于中国当代水墨的推广与研究。
