构造层次是指在同一次构造变形中由于在地壳不同深度，因温度、压力的不同面引起岩石物性的变化，从而形成各具特色的构造分层。一般把地壳或岩石圈划分为表、浅、中、深四个构造层次。随着地质构造研究的不断深入，人们对从地表到地下深处的构造有更深一步的了解，认识到地壳或岩石圈不同深度区的变形过程、变形机制和变形产物以及构造特点都是不同的。Wegmann( 1935) 提出了“构造层次”的概念。
