板状构造(platy structure ) 又称“板劈理”。是板岩特有的构造。其特征是，在应力作用下，岩石中出现了一组互相平行的劈理面，使岩石沿劈理面形成板状。它与原岩层理平行或斜交。劈理面常整齐而光滑，有时有少量绢云母、绿泥石等，显微弱的绢丝光泽。但是，由热接触变质作用形成的板岩，其板状构造有时是代表原来岩石的板状层理，而不是由应力作用形成的板状劈理。
矿石结构主要为泥质结构和显微鳞片泥质结构，构造主要为微层状、板状和致密块状；
