条支，西亚古国名(地名：在今伊拉克境内底格里斯河和幼发拉底河之间。）据说为塞琉古（塞琉西）王国国（公元前312年，亚历山大大帝部将塞琉古一世建立。）公元前64年，条支亡于罗马。汉永和九年，即公元97年，班超派甘英出使大秦（即罗马）至此，因临海受阻而返回。 公元226-651年，萨珊波斯兴起后，领有条支，故《魏书·西域传》中又 称波斯为古条支国。
甘英一直来到波斯湾头的幼发拉底河和底格里斯河人海处的条支(Antiochia),准备渡海西行,但安眠人为了垄断东方与罗马的商业,向甘英夸大了阿拉伯海航行的艰险,阻止了甘英入一步西行,自条支而还。
