望柱也称栏杆柱，是中国古代建筑和桥梁栏板和拦板之间的短柱。望柱有木造和石造。望柱分柱身和柱头两部分；柱身的截面，在宋代多为八角形，清代望柱的柱身，截面多为四方形。
栏板、望柱也都是用九或九的倍数，象征“天数”。
