镜头的最大光圈直径和焦距的比数,叫做“有效孔径”,是表示镜头的最大通光量,也是镜头的最大口径。譬如,一只镜头的最大光圈直径是25毫米,焦距是50毫米,则有25:50=1:2。这就是说,镜头的焦距比口径长二倍,口径是焦距的1/2,这只镜头的有效孔径就是1:2,也作F/2或称F2。
