方孔钱是我国古代钱币的俗称。方孔钱中间有方孔的圆形钱币，由环形钱演变而来，成为我国古代铜钱的固定形式。方孔钱以秦的半两钱为最早，民国的“民国通宝”铜币最晚。这种钱在我国沿用了2000多年。 方孔钱是中国古代钱币最常见的一种。由于发行时间和发行量均远大于其他种类的钱币，方孔钱和中国古钱币这两个概念经常等同。
