由于每年入选“实习记者”的名额有限，对于其他有能力而未能入选的年轻人给予新闻助理（NEWS ASSISTANT）的名义，在各个新闻部门工作，继续写作历练。遇有暑季假期，或有给予一个月期间担任实际采访工作，递补度假记者的路线。
