建筑学中的斗底有两种意思：第一种与斗拱中的斗有关,斗是斗拱中承托拱、昂的方形木块,因状如旧时量米的斗而得名，如概述图，而斗底即下面平的一层类似桌面的部分,上面突出的,形象类似倒置的短小桌子的桌腿的部分,与斗底相对,为斗耳。第二种与梁架结构的柱网平面有关,榑栿梁架构成的建筑空间的深度,就是大梁的长度,宽度是榑(檩)的长度,这就是结构所要构筑的主要的建筑空间,因形如中空之斗的底面,因此称为斗底。
