摩擦特性,两相互接触的物体有相对运动或有相对运动趋势时在接触处产生阻力的现象,是摩擦学研究的重要内容。因摩擦而产生的阻力称为摩擦力。相互摩擦的两物体称为摩擦副。摩擦通常起有害作用,但有时又是不可缺少的。人的行走和机车的牵引能力都要依靠摩擦。在机械工程中利用摩擦做有益工作的有带传动、制动器、离合器和摩擦焊等。
