探究教学是指在教师的引导下，学生主动参与到发现问题、寻找答案的过程中，以培养学生探究兴趣和解决问题能力的一种教学活动。探究教学的实质就是按照提出科学结论和检验科学结论的结构方式去揭示科学结论。探究教学的程序包括：发现问题——收集资料——处理与解释资料——问题解决。探究教学有利于科学概念的形成，有利于培养学生的探究能力，掌握科学的思维方法，它的产生背景包括社会背景和思想渊源两个方面。
