探勘又叫做勘探。 勘探是工程地质勘察的重要方法，是获取深部地质资料必不可少的手段。勘探工作必须在调查测绘的基础上进行。在进行勘探时，应充分利用地向调绘资料，合理布置勘探点，以减少不必要的工作量；同时应充分利用地面调绘资料，分析勘探成果，以避免判断的错误。
