拱手，又称作揖，是古代汉民族的相见礼。行礼时，双手互握合于胸前。当代一般右手握拳在内，左手在外；若为丧事行拱手礼，则正好相反。一说古人以左为敬，又有人在攻击别人时，通常用右手，所以拱手时，左手在外，以左示人，表示真诚与尊敬。
