森林主伐方式之一。在预定的森林面积上定期地、重复地采伐成熟的林木和树群。择伐可使森林不断实现局部更新，地面始终保持森林覆被，因而形成的森林是异龄复层林，能充分发挥森林的生态效益，但设备效益不能较好发挥，成本较高。
