总贸易是“专门贸易”的对称，是指以国境为标准划分的进出口贸易。凡进入国境的商品一律列为总进口；凡离开国境的商品一律列为总出口。在总出口中又包括本国产品的出口和未经加工的进口商品的出口。总进口额加总出口额就是一国的总贸易额。美国、日本、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、中国、原苏联、东欧等国采用这种划分标准。
