强直刺激也称重复刺激，是指对神经或肌肉重复施与的刺激。当肌肉接受一连串彼此间隔时间很短的连续兴奋冲动时，由于各个刺激间的时间间隔很短，后一个刺激都落在由前一刺激所引起的收缩结束之前，就又引起下一次收缩，因而在一连串的刺激过程中，肌肉得不到充分时间进行完全的宽息，而一直维持在缩短状态中。
强直刺激 （ tetanic stimulation ）：用频率为20～50Hz，波宽0.2ms，持续5s，间隔时间6～10分钟的刺激，引起肌肉强直收缩，可鉴别阻滞的性质和程度。
