引弧板用于焊缝的焊接。在焊点的起点和终点处，常因对接焊缝的焊件剖口，所以焊件对接焊缝的型式有直边缝、单边V形缝、双边V形缝、U形缝、K形缝、X形缝等等。而焊缝的起点和终点处，常因不能熔透而出现凹形的焊口，为了避免受力后出现裂纹及应力集中，按《钢结构工程施工质量验收规范》的规定，施焊时应将两端焊至引弧板上，然后将多余部分切除，这样就不致减小焊缝处的截面。
焊接热引弧可调，适用于不同板厚工件的焊接引弧。推力电流可调，适用于各种焊接工艺要求。
