佛教专有名词 引导升座之意。禅林中，由住持为大众介绍即将升座说法之尊宿或新上任之住持，谓之引座。有两种情形︰其一，他寺尊宿来访，首座劝请其升座说法，必由住持为之引座。其二，他寺住持虚席，请本寺西堂或首座迁补，必先遣专使迎请本寺住持引座，而后受请之新住持升座。《敕修百丈清规》卷二〈住持日用〉云（大正48·1119b）︰‘若尊宿相访特为上堂，或引座举扬。’同书卷三〈请新住持〉云（大正48·1124c）︰‘专使当隔宿怀香诣方丈，触礼三拜。词云︰拜请和尚来日为新命和尚引座。’
