幼发拉底河是中东名河，发源于土耳其安纳托利亚高原和亚美尼亚高原山区，流经叙利亚和伊拉克，大体上流向东南，最后与位于其东面的底格里斯河合流成为阿拉伯河，注入波斯湾，为西南亚最大河流。其与底格里斯河共同界定美索不达米亚。幼发拉底河全长约2800千米。
