川竹(P.simonii(Carr.)Nakai) 别名：山竹（中国植物图鉴）、苦竹（中国竹类植物志略）、女竹、水苦竹、空心苦（浙江）秆高2－5，径0.6－3cm，新秆具白色稀疏微毛，节间长15－30cm。箨鞘淡绿色，先端有淡黄绿色放射状条纹，边缘具纤毛，基部具一圈易落的淡棕色纤毛；箨耳缺如；箨舌弧形，淡紫色；箨叶披针形，开张域反转。叶片长8－16cm，宽 1.5－2.5cm。笋期5－6月。可作构竿、笼、团扇等材料用，笋苦不能食用。
